In the north of Aruba lies the little-known and therefore little-visited Arashi Beach. If you don’t need a beach right next to your hotel and prefer privacy to beach fun, this hidden gem will not disappoint and will charm you with its tranquillity and natural charm that is not disturbed by mass tourism. Arashi Beach still retains its authenticity and originality.

Beach is iconic
After parking in the free car park behind the restaurant, you enter directly onto the fine white sand. Although the beach is unknown, it is definitely not small. You can fold right at the bar, or walk a little further to one of the divi-divi trees and fold your stuff there.
The sea is shallow and very calm, but due to its location, it is windier than other beaches. You have to count on it, but you won’t feel it in the sea. 😊

This beach is natural; no buildings or hotels obstruct your view. Looking at the turquoise sea and the horizon will get you and you won’t want to leave. From the sea, you’ll see the greenery and the island’s oldest lighthouse, which is nearby and will tempt you to go to it at the end of the day. We were lured too.

In addition to snorkelling and swimming, you can also enjoy pleasant walks along the coast. If you like sunsets, Arashi Beach is one of the best places to watch them. We caught ours from the lighthouse and didn’t realise how quickly time was passing, so it must have been even more beautiful from the beach.
Beach amenities
Although Arashi Beach is not a frequent tourist destination, you will find some amenities here. There are public toilets, showers, and a few snack stands where you can buy drinks or small bites. Since prices in Aruba are generally quite high, we were surprised to find that the prices here were reasonable. However, you won’t find sun loungers or umbrellas here.

How to get to Arashi Beach?
You can reach the beach best by car or by local bus. If you’re coming from the capital Oranjestad, it takes about 20 minutes by car. You can also use public transport – buses run regularly to Arashi Beach. There’s a bus stop right by the beach, so it’s just a few steps to the water. If you choose to drive, parking is close to the beach and is free.
