25. September 2024Logas beach - the most beautiful sunsets
Logas beach is famous for its dramatic cliffs that drop steeply into the Ionian Sea, forming a narrow sandy coastline. Facing west, it is an ideal place to watch the sunset. But be careful what time you come here. You won't find the beach here at high tide. Then the sea reaches the cliffs and you can see the sandy beach, but you have nowhere to lie down unless you want to be washed by the waves all the time.
The beach is not for everyone. Traditional sunbathing and swimming is not the forte of this place. There are no sun beds and lying on the sand you constantly risk being swamped by the incoming waves. However, the scenery you will find here will entice the more adventurous natures to visit.
How to get here
The only way to get here is by car. Right in the parking lot is a stall where you can buy a drink and a bench from which you can watch the sunset or just look out to sea. If you decide to go to the beach, there is a path down and then steep stairs that you have to descend to find yourself by the sea. Then, depending on the sea level, you either walk or swim to the beach.
The cliffs around Logas Beach are made of clay, contributing to their instability, so you should wear sturdy shoes and take care.
Unfortunately, we didn't know the beach is so narrow that you can't lie on it. If we weren't with a small toddler, we would have definitely gone exploring as we were very tempted by the wildness of it. However, the beach is completely unsuitable for visiting with little ones. The beach can be visited with older children who are already swimmers.
